Advocacy & Support Role of RYP
RYP offers member groups and their young people a direct communication route
through to the council, health service, police and others that have an
influence on life in our local community. We attend all the relevant policy
groups on a range of topics including community safety, substance misuse,
teenage preganancy, holiday programmes, youth involvement, volunteering,
education and careers, housing, all the new Children's Trust groups,
domestic violence.... (the list goes on!)
We are able to articulate your
views on any of these topics to relevant policy makers and seek to influence
change. Please feel free to contact us for any further information on this
aspect of our work.
We also have a role in communicating developements to our members and to the wider population. We do this through regular email bulletins, this website and through meetings and 1:1 contacts. In addition we can advise your group on all aspects of your work including
- Funding advice
- Health and safety
- Child Protection
- Programme ideas
- Networking with others in your area
- Youth involvement
- Any issue that is affecting your club/project
Again if you would like to know more please get in touch.
